New Alamein City is gearing up to host the second edition of the Arab Youth Media Creativity Summit under the theme “Innovative Media… Leading Initiatives” this coming August. The event marks another milestone in the Arab media’s efforts to keep pace with global technological transformations. It is organized by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, with official support from the League of Arab States and the Egyptian Cabinet, and will bring together prominent media professionals, experts, and Arab youth from across the region.
Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of the Academy, stated that this year’s summit will be even more ambitious and innovative than the highly successful inaugural edition. He explained that the summit aims to enhance the skills of young media professionals and prepare them to meet the challenges of the modern media industry—especially in light of rapid technological developments and the emergence of tools such as artificial intelligence, which are reshaping content creation and media production methods.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Academy’s Alexandria campus, Abdel Ghaffar highlighted that the summit will feature workshops and specialized discussion panels focused on the applications of AI in data analysis and interactive content production. He stressed the importance of leveraging digital tools to enhance the effectiveness of Arab media in this digital transformation era.
He added that media today is no longer just a means of delivering news—it has evolved into a multimedia, interactive platform requiring creative thinking and the ability to engage instantly with a global audience. Abdel Ghaffar also noted a recent academic achievement: the Academy ranked first among Egyptian universities in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025 for Sustainable Development, and 104th globally out of over 2,000 universities.
In his remarks during the conference, Dr. Tarek Saada, President of the Media Syndicate, emphasized that Arab youth possess the energy and knowledge needed to actively shape the future of media. He stated: “Today, power stems from knowledge, and technology is the weapon of the modern media professional.” He described the Media Creativity Summit as a golden opportunity for every Arab youth to showcase their ideas and talents, warning that those who fail to adapt to the digital revolution risk being left behind.
For his part, Ambassador Raed Al-Jabouri, Director of the Department of Arab Organizations and Federations at the League of Arab States, stressed that the summit represents a key step in supporting innovation and reinforcing the role of media as a tool for positive societal change in the Arab world. He praised the Academy’s role in youth empowerment and affirmed the League’s commitment to supporting initiatives that bridge academic development and media creativity.
The Arab Youth Media Creativity Summit is one of the most significant regional events focused on the future of media. It aims to foster professional dialogue and empower a new generation of media leaders grounded in creativity, interaction, and technological awareness. As the global media landscape undergoes profound structural changes, the summit aspires to serve as a genuine platform for preparing Arab media leaders of tomorrow—right in the heart of New Alamein, a symbol of Egypt’s modern development.
