inDrive, the leading smart mobility company in Egypt, announced the renewal of its partnership with Misr El Kheir Foundation for the second consecutive year, launching its Ramadan 2026 initiative during a suhoor event held for journalists and attended by representatives from the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Finance.
This collaboration aims to increase donations and generate tangible, sustainable social and economic impact for the most vulnerable communities across Egypt’s governorates. The partnership reflects a shared vision of leveraging advanced technology to support community development efforts and improve quality of life.
This year, inDrive’s Ramadan campaign adopts a new direction centered on reinforcing the concept of giving back, expanding beyond the app’s user base to engage a broader segment of the Egyptian public. As part of the campaign, the company produced an animated Ramadan-themed music video featuring rising artist Donia Wael alongside artist El Waili. The creative production highlights the role of art and technology in advancing charitable initiatives and sustainable development.
inDrive will convert every view of its Ramadan song, “Wahawi Ya Wahawi,” into a real contribution toward donations. The total value of contributions will be calculated based on the overall number of views on YouTube, in addition to the number of rides completed by app users throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
This year’s proceeds will be directed to Misr El Kheir Foundation, focusing on the community education sector. The initiative aims to distribute 5,000 Ramadan food boxes to 5,000 students across 10 Egyptian governorates. Coinciding with Eid Al-Fitr celebrations, the campaign will also include the distribution of 5,000 additional clothing vouchers, providing integrated support designed to bring joy to students and their families and maximize the campaign’s social impact during the festive season.
In this context, Alaa Shalaby, Country Manager of inDrive Egypt, stated: “inDrive is consistently committed to giving back to the community, guided by one of its core values—creating sustainable social and economic impact within underserved communities. This year, we are focusing on supporting students striving for better educational opportunities, with the aim of fostering an environment where they feel valued, supported, and an integral part of society.”
As part of its broader social objectives, inDrive seeks to go beyond merely providing essential Ramadan food boxes. The initiative is designed to empower Egyptian users to create real and positive change through their everyday actions. By integrating charitable giving into the daily mobility experience, inDrive underscores the importance of social solidarity and compassion during the holy month, embodying the values of generosity and mercy that define Ramadan traditions.
Dr. Hanan El-Darbashi, Head of the Takaful and Gharmeen Sector at Misr El Kheir Foundation, expressed her pride in renewing the partnership with inDrive for the second consecutive year, emphasizing that the collaboration represents a strong and effective model of sustainable partnerships between civil society organizations and the private sector.
She noted that this year’s Ramadan campaign marks a qualitative shift in fundraising approaches by utilizing digital tools and creative content to engage a wider segment of Egyptian society, thereby amplifying developmental impact.
El-Darbashi added that directing support to the community education sector—through the distribution of 5,000 Ramadan boxes and 5,000 Eid clothing vouchers to students in 10 governorates—reflects Misr El Kheir Foundation’s firm belief that investing in education is the most impactful pathway to breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering future generations. She also commended inDrive’s commitment to creating sustainable social and economic impact through innovative community initiatives.
Mr. Medhat Abdel Rashid, Economic Empowerment and Social Protection Consultant at the Ministry of Social Solidarity, underscored the pivotal role played by private sector companies such as inDrive, alongside businesses operating across diverse sectors, in supporting charitable initiatives and strengthening active participation in civil society activities.
He explained that such collaborations contribute to tangible social impact through partnerships with charitable institutions to support the most vulnerable groups, reinforcing economic empowerment efforts and advancing sustainable development.
The event was attended by several government representatives, including officials from the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Finance. Among them were Dr. Susan El-Oqbawi, Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Data Governance; Dr. Mohamed El-Oqbi, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Media and Strategic Communication and the Ministry’s official spokesperson; Dr. Nevine Mansour, Advisor to the Minister of Finance; and Dr. Raafat Shafik, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Social Protection, Safety Nets, and Economic Empowerment.
