The event will bring together government ministers, Central Bank officials, top banking executives, senior financial regulatory officials, and leading real estate developers.
Eng. He stressed the need for innovative financial solutions to support Egypt’s unprecedented urban expansion, which includes the development of over 38 new cities and multiple public-private partnership projects.
Sabbour added: “Egypt’s real estate market is projected to reach a value of $1.45 trillion, highlighting the significance of this vital sector, which contributes 20% of the country’s GDP. This growth is driven by government efforts to foster an attractive investment environment, enhance infrastructure, and provide the necessary guarantees to protect investments. While confidence in the Egyptian market among foreign investors continues to grow, numerous challenges remain. The second edition of The Investor.. Real Estate conference aims to address these issues and propose actionable solutions for policymakers.”
Eng. Hesham Shokry, Chairman of the Real Estate Export Council and Secretary-General of the second edition of the conference, pointed out that the conference will discuss key real estate market concerns, ranging from financing challenges amid high interest rates to property exports.
Shokry highlighted Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly’s recent statement that Egypt’s share in global real estate exports remains modest. He further explained that for Egypt to make a significant leap in this field, several obstacles need to be addressed, including property registration issues, improvements to the real estate registry system, and the establishment of a conducive environment for real estate investment funds. The conference will also explore the growing importance of serviced apartments and hospitality real estate as part of Egypt’s real estate export strategy.
This year’s conference follows the formation of specialized advisory committees to facilitate dialogue between the government and the private sector. These include the Urban Development and Real Estate Export Committee, reflecting the state’s commitment to fostering sustainable development, advancing the real estate sector, and creating a promising investment environment.
