M&P Group and FRA Regulatory Sandbox Sign MoU

to Strengthen Regional Presence Amid Egypt’s Drive to Accelerate Digital Transformation

by Marwa Abo Almajd

M&P Public Policy and Strategic Communications Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Financial Regulatory Authority’s Regulatory Sandbox (FRA Sandbox), which is responsible for enabling companies to unlock their innovation potential by providing a real-world environment where innovative products, services, and business models can be tested and users can be engaged directly under the supervision of Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA).

Under the MoU, M&P Group will implement an integrated program built around three key pillars. The first is strengthening the Sandbox’s local and international presence through promotional activities. The second is expanding its participation in specialized conferences and events. The third is collaborating on the organization of the annual regional event, “The Flagship International Forum for Regulatory Sandboxes,” scheduled to take place in March 2027.

The agreement will help strengthen the Sandbox’s institutional identity and support its public relations efforts, highlighting its achievements and enhancing its local and international presence. This is aligned with Egypt’s efforts to accelerate digital transformation and foster innovation in the non-banking financial sector, while advancing the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030 to build a competitive, knowledge- and data-driven digital economy.

The forum that M&P Group plans to organize with the Sandbox will serve as an annual dialogue and knowledge-sharing platform bringing together regulatory authorities, regulatory sandboxes, fintech companies, and venture capital funds from Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, alongside international and regional institutions such as the African Union, the African Development Bank, and the Gulf Cooperation Council. The forum will seek to align regulatory frameworks and attract investment.

Commenting on the agreement, Ambassador Sherif El-Badawy, CEO of M&P Group, said:
“We are proud of our partnership with the Financial Regulatory Authority’s Regulatory Sandbox, which reflects our commitment to supporting leading regulatory bodies in strengthening their regional and international presence. We look forward to leveraging our expertise to highlight the pivotal role of the FRA Sandbox as an innovative regulatory model that supports digital transformation in the non-banking financial sector.”

Eng. Ahmed Khalifa, Executive Director of the FRA Regulatory Sandbox, said:
“This partnership represents a major step toward establishing the FRA Sandbox as a leading local and regional platform for testing and developing innovative financial solutions and enhancing international and African cooperation. It also supports the Authority’s vision of achieving financial and investment inclusion and improving market efficiency through fintech innovation.”
