Vodafone Egypt Earns umlaut “Best in Test” for Fixed and Mobile Network for the Fourth Consecutive Year

and for the First Time, Leads in Every Mobile Network Test Category

by Marwa Abo Almajd

Beyond Reliable… Egypt’s Best Mobile in all test categories: For the first time, Vodafone Egypt ranks #1 across all test categories for mobile networks, a recognition Built on Decades of Strategic Investment and Future-Ready Digital Foundation

Vodafone Egypt has once again secured top honours in the latest independent benchmarking report by umlaut, earning the “Best in Test” certification for both its Mobile and Fixed broadband networks in Egypt for the assessment period between November 2025 and May 2026. Having been recognised in 2025 as Egypt’s most reliable network, Vodafone Egypt now leads in every test category for Mobile networks, reflecting Vodafone’s long-term commitment to building and continuously enhancing Egypt’s digital infrastructure, ensuring customers benefit from the country’s strongest connectivity.

Reflecting the scale of this recognition, Vodafone Egypt ranked first across all seven Mobile Network categories evaluated by umlaut: Reliability, Broadband Coverage, User Download Speed, User Upload Speed, Latency, Voice Stability. Its leadership extended to Fixed Broadband connectivity as well, where, besides the Best Fixed Broadband award, it obtained the highest rankings for Fixed Network Reliability, User Download Speed, and Latency.

The results for umlaut’s assessment are based on over 95 million samples collected independently from real end users, offering objective validation of performance under real-world conditions, across the full connectivity experience, where Egyptians live, work, learn, and connect.

This recognition reflects Vodafone Egypt’s network leadership built on decades of sustained investment, strategic planning, innovation, and operational excellence. Since beginning operations in 1998, Vodafone Egypt has invested more than EGP 125 billion in building and modernizing its network infrastructure, with a further EGP 20 bn committed during FY 2026/27 to continue expanding coverage, enhancing network capabilities, and scaling the technologies required to meet future demand.

Building on this sustained commitment, Vodafone Egypt’s investment strategy spans spectrum, fiber, mobile and fixed infrastructure, 5G, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data centers, and advanced digital platforms. The company has also continued to attract and develop leading industry talent, combining engineering expertise, data-driven decision-making, and advanced operational practices to continuously improve its network and customer experience.

“Leading every mobile network test category evaluated by umlaut for the first time, while also achieving the highest ranking for our Fixed broadband network, is a defining validation of our long-term technology strategy. The results reflect decades of disciplined investment, continuous modernization, operational excellence, and the expertise of our teams. Our focus extends beyond delivering the strongest network performance today. We are continuing our efforts in building the secure, resilient, and intelligent digital foundation that more than 55 m Egyptians, businesses, and government entities will increasingly depend upon. Our continued investments in spectrum, 5G, fiber, cloud, cybersecurity, AI, and data center infrastructure are not only strengthening network performance today, but they are also creating the digital foundations that will enable Egypt’s next generation of innovation, economic growth and digital transformation.” remarked Catalin Buliga, Technology Director at Vodafone Egypt.

Yet Vodafone Egypt’s focus extends beyond the performant customers experience today. Egypt’s next era of growth will be defined not by connectivity alone, but by what is built upon it; the data, the cloud, and the intelligence that will increasingly be hosted within the region. As the country advances toward its ambition of becoming a regional digital hub, that foundation must be not only fast and far-reaching, but resilient and trusted. It is for this reason that Vodafone Egypt has built one of the most comprehensive portfolios of independent, internationally recognized security certifications in the regional telecommunications sector, spanning its cloud infrastructure, its financial services platform, and the organization as a whole, ensuring the network is qualified to carry the next generation of digital services on which an economy can grow with confidence.

That same commitment is reflected in the network’s design: a multi-layer redundant backhaul architecture that safeguards service continuity, supported by AI-driven monitoring and predictive analytics that allow teams to anticipate issues and respond before customers are affected.

From homes, hospitals, and classrooms to businesses and public services, reliable connectivity has become the enabler of how Egyptians learn, work, and grow. This latest recognition from umlaut confirms that sustained investment in quality, reliability, and trust delivers measurable value for both customers and the nation, ensuring that connectivity remains the driver of growth, innovation, and national advancement.
